What Is The Best Way To Get Traffic To Your Affiliate Site?

A lot of newbie affiliate marketers wonder what the best way to drive traffic to a website is. While it is probably best to diversify your traffic generation methods as much as possible, here are the ones that work best for me:

1. Article marketing: I would say that around 50% -60% of the traffic to my sites comes from articles I submitted to Ezine Articles. Some of the articles brought in short-term traffic only, while others have been delivering visitors for several years now. I also get some traffic from ArticlesBase.com, but it is only a fraction of what EZA delivers.
2. Organic search engine traffic: About half of my visitors come from search engines like Google and Bing (I don´t get many visitors from Yahoo). Search engine traffic is probably some of the best you can get, but it is a bit harder to rank well with your own site compared to getting an EZA article on the first page of Google. Still by, targeting low competition keywords and generating backlinks from articles and submission services like Unique Article Wizard it can certainly be done, it just takes more time.
3. Forum marketing: Forums can be a source of some great, highly targeted traffic. I have been experimenting a bit with this over the last couple of weeks and have seen good resutls. I will be doing a lot more of it in the future.
4. PPC marketing: In the past I used to do quite a bit of PPC marketing on Google Adwords, however nowadays I prefer to focus on article marketing and SEO. Still, it can be a great source of targeted traffic, IF you have the money and know what you are doing.
